November.
It’s the month that has actual freezing temperatures, and the stress of realizing you didn’t save any money for Christmas gifts.
But with that there’s cute fuzzy socks, men who don’t shave for 30 days #blessed, and holiday spirit!!! I’m all about that Christmas music the moment Thanksgiving day arrives and curling up with a good book and an even better coffee.
Which brings me to my first fav thing November brought me, which is Big Magic written by the witty and hilarious, Elizabeth Gilbert.
It came to me in perfect timing. It’s all about those who want to live a creative life. Those who are willing to be criticized, critiqued, talked about, and work hard to make a living from their creative passions. Mine of course, is fitness and photography. Exercising is creative for me, as I’m constantly looking for ways to mix up my workouts to keep me interested and my muscles confused.
One thing I love about writing for my own blog, is that I’m free to write however I please. I don’t have Mr. Fornelli telling me that I have a good story but need to work on this, this, and that. I write how I would speak to you! There are probably some people reading this making mental notes of all my grammatical errors. And that’s cool.
Do yo thang.
I love that I can take photos and write words and help someone solve some sort of problem. To inspire, and to create Is very important to me. This book helped me to get started with that. Amongst others like Tony Robbins, which is an entire different post.
If you’re itching to do something creative with your time, whether it be a hobby or something you turn profitable, I would 100 percent recommend this book. It’s a quick and easy read with a lot of meaning.
This month also brought me back to my stomping grounds.
That’s right, Bath & Body Works.
When I was younger, I was an Aeropostale wearing, croc loving, warm vanilla sugar lotion freak. There is nothing more satisfying than smelling like a warm cookie in the winter. Amiright?!
Not only do they sell lotions that you highly consider tasting but their candles and room sprays make you beg for winter year round.
Maybe that’s a stretch, but you feel me.
Let me tell you, if these room sprays were around back when I was younger you can guarantee that all the money I stole from my brothers room when they were gone, would be spent directly on these.
I’m not sponsored by Bath & Body Works but BBW if you’re reading this please feel free to e-mail me.
Back to what I was saying, these sprays give you a quick burst of your favorite scent. I spray the Lavender Vanilla on my pillow before I go to bed and I sleep like the angel I already am. Also spray these before guests come over and you’ll be forever known as the girl ( or boy ) who smells so good but no one knows why.
If I had to pick one make-up product for the rest of my life, I would, without hesitation, choose mascara.
Mascara brightens up your face, you feel alive and ready when your eyelashes are on point.
I’ve wanted to give eyelash extensions a try, but the price and the upkeep make me want to cry. So I’ve tried every mascara from drugstore to top of the line and the winner is..
This will change your life. Add a primer beforehand and you will never spend your money on eyelash extensions. (although I secretly want to) You will be smart with your money, just like your parents taught you to be. Wow, doesn’t that feel good!!!??
Best drugstore mascara here
And lastly,
Eucalyptus gives you all the good feels.
When you put it on you feel relaxed and calm. Planning a destination wedding, buying a home and starting a blog all at once can seem like a stress filled season, but I’m actually feeling really good. I’m taking one thing at a time, and going with the flow. I’m thankful to be busy, that means things are happening! To me, that trumps the stress that you inevitably feel when you’re overwhelmed. You can choose to control stress or let it control you.
Up to you!!
That’s all for this month! I hope you try something new, too. If you have, let me know.
Happy Holidays
all my love,
