Lately I’ve put very little effort into anything beauty related. Let’s be real, once I find something that works, I stick with it.
Last December before my wedding I bought this amazing face moisturizer. It was the first time I spent a decent amount of money on any face product. When I got to St. Lucia (honeymoon) after the wedding, I tore my bag apart looking for this moisturizer that cost more than the down payment on our condo, basically, and it was no where to be found.
That’s why I can’t have nice things. RIP.
After some depressing months of a dry face left un-moisturized, I held my head high and went back on Amazon. I found myself a cheap ($18) moisturizer that could get me by. Turns out, I love the stuff. Goes to show that just because it’s cheap doesn’t make it bad. And just because it’s expensive, doesn’t make it good.
The first ingredient is Aloe Vera. If you read my post about Best Drinks Instead of Soda, you would have seen that I drink Aloe Vera Water and I’m a little obsessed with the stuff. My skin is always so clear after sipping on it. Now I get to rub it all over my face. Win! The pump feature is also extremely fun. If you can turn the pump of your moisturizer into something enjoyable, you’re doing it right.
I would consider my skin very sensitive and I haven’t had problems with it yet. I would recommend this if you’re on a budget, or just like trying new products. If you have oily skin you probably won’t like this because it’s pretty thick.
OH, and I just got an Aloe Vera plant. Can’t wait to do some serious hair/face masks with that.
Benefits of Aloe Vera:
And much more.
Cucumber De-Tox Hydra-Gel Eye Patches
These Eye Patches are by far my absolute favorite thing. Unfortunately I have dark circles and bags under my eyes no matter what I do. I keep mine in the fridge and when I apply them under my eyes for 10 minutes while I’m getting ready, I instantly feel less puffy. When you keep them in the fridge, it soothes your face and feels sooooo good. Highly recommend.
+ You don’t need to use them every single day, so the container lasts a long time. I’ve had mine for over 5 months and use only when I’m feeling extra puffy.
Really, wallpaper?
YA!
This has nothing to do with beauty products, but it is pretty. When we got back from the wedding I had a strong desire to use wallpaper in our bedroom. The right wallpaper can be so pretty and add a lot to a room. Maybe I’ve been watching too much Fixer Upper lately but I’m in love.
I did one wall in our bedroom by myself without any ladder, or any proper straight edge. I can confidently say it was the worst four hours of my life. It wasn’t until I was done with the project that I realized they make wallpaper that has a peel off back.
I had to lay mine on the floor and paint adhesive corner to corner, then transfer it to the wall while standing on my half broken kitchen stool that swivels…
Okay, I don’t want to talk about it anymore, but the finished product actually turned out better than I thought it would. I positioned the bed to cover up some spots that were less desirable, but we’ll keep that between us.
Johanna Gaines would be so proud.
My May Favs will definitely be some new clothes and shoes I’ve had my eyes on.
