Last week Jon and I woke up one morning and couldn’t start our day until we had waffles.
Now, that doesn’t seem like a weird thing, right?
No, It most definitely was. Growing up, waffles were not a staple in my home. Which is fine, I just now know that my mom didn’t love me all that much.
And neither of us have had waffles for years and we don’t own a waffle maker. For some reason i’ve been living in this lie that waffle makers were so expensive and why buy one when you can make pancakes because they’re basically the same thing.
BUT they’re basically NOT the same thing
So, what did we do?! We went to Target in our PJ’s ( well, and our coats, boots, hats, and gloves #hassle) and got ourselves the first waffle maker we saw. Nothing fancy, of course – $20. I’ve spent $20 wayyyy worse.
I searched long and hard for a healthy waffle recipe with my limited ingredients. We tried a couple, some ok, some decent, and some were in the garbage quicker than they were made. After a couple of days of trying new recipes, our defeated hearts and stomaches chalked this up as a big ole loss.
Weeks later I came across the Cinnamon Roll Waffle. Some call it a coincidence, I call it fate.
This is not something that is new. In fact, I would be willing to say the vast majority of people know about this. But for those who do not, let me be your friend here. And as your friend I’m begging you to make these Cinnamon Roll Waffles. Please?!?!? Be a hero?!?! Do it for your heart?!?! Don’t you love yourself?!?!
LIKE, COME ON.
They made my picky man nearly cry. And I’m still recovering from the Cinnamon Roll Waffle coma.
Who has time to:
A. Make waffle batter? No.
B. Wait for the oven to heat up, put the Cinnamon Rolls in the oven, and then wait?
What a sick joke.
This is the perfect way to wake up any day of the week. But there is something about the holidays that make it extra special. Let Pillsbury do the work for you!!
Spoil yourself, you deserve it.
There is nothing wrong with enjoying these cuties. I have a wedding in 30 days and I still ate them.
This literally requires no prep, no ingredients, little to no dishes, and most importantly, no talent! Whohoo!
For the sake of the post I’ll explain how to make these.
Plus, they look like snowflakes!! If you’ve thought about making these before, I hope I’ve inspired you to do so. Because these are as good as they sound. I promise that I will be sharing healthy protein waffles..as soon I figure them out. Happy Eating!
all my love,
